Blog-8: My Imaged Public Art Park

I imagine my own public art project to represent a community in the Detroit area that’s near Comerica Park, Fox Theater and Ford Field. This is an excellent location to show off Detroit and its community with the incredible imitative art talents.

Just imagine as your coming down Woodward you see a huge complex that appears to be a work of art but also a building with a Detroit Public Schools bus park in from of it. This new building house an art and science theater, kid’s hands on museum, stages where the community can come and put on community plays. I would call the build Detroit Community Art Metropolis.

Next to the Detroit Community Art Metropolis would be a giant water fountain that shoots up and has an art sculpture in the center of the fountain and band stage would be built next to it. When the weather is nice the community comes out to listen to local musicians and school children put on musical for the community. I would call it the Fountain of Youth Park.

I would build a chess park on long Woodward and call it Chess Park. This would be place where all ages can come and learn the game of chess. People could come and have friendly chess matches. There would be community chess tournaments held all through the summer. Sometimes that would be professional chess tournaments where the best in the world and the community would come to compete from my newly invented Check Mate Trophy and $100,000 to the winner. No one would be a looser we would have local businesses sponsor prizes for all the participants. The chess park would be a good way for local Detroiter's and people coming into catch a Tiger or Lions game or Concert at the Fox to take in the people and personality of Detroit.
